Susan Gayle Carpenter Sanders

Susan Gayle Carpenter Sanders, 73, of Beaver, Oklahoma passed away January 26, 2023 peacefully at her residence. Susan was born July 22, 1949 to Corlis B. Carpenter, Jr. and Jean E. Schutte Carpenter in Galveston, Texas. She was a graduate of the Ball High School class of 1967 in Galveston, Texas. She was a member of the Ball High School Band. She earned her Associates Degree from Galveston College.

Susan was an Administrative Coordinator/1 for the Portsmouth, Virginia Fire Department and retired from the fire department in 2012. Susan reunited with her high school sweetheart, Doug Sanders, and the were married May 4, 2012 at the 45^th High School reunion. Susan loved going to the casino and traveling. She was an avid “Facebooker”,  who loved watching game shows and Hallmark movies.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Corlis Carpenter and Jean Schutte Carpenter, a brother, Tommy, a sister, Dale and a brother, Bob.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Doug Sanders, of Beaver, Oklahoma; a daughter, Heather Harkleroad of Portsmouth, Virginia; a brother, David Carpenter of Santa Fe, Texas; a son, Michael Sanders and wife, Michelle of Beaver, Oklahoma; a son, Antone Sanders and wife, Tish, of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter, Christi Sharp and husband, Patrick, of Beaver, Oklahoma; nephew, Kris Carpenter an wife, Trisha, of League City, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Alyssa Johnson, Adysen Harkleroad, Meagan Harkleroad Feken, Samantha Sharp, Cody Sharp, Dillon Sharp, Nancy Sanders, Kaylee Sanders, Natalie Sanders, Brian Sanders, Madison Goodman and three great grandchildren, AJ, Khloie, and Rylee.
