Mildred Mitchell Cowan, 92, passed away in Amarillo, Texas on August 22, 2014.

Mildred was born in Texas County Oklahoma to Richie Mitchell and Elsie Mae (Kilgore) Mitchell on April 13, 1922. Mildred married Everett Bruce Cowan on December 20, 1941 in Hooker, Oklahoma. Mildred was a caring mother and devoted homemaker who enjoyed embroidery and cooking for those she loved.

Mildred is survived by her six children: DeWayne Cowan, Stevie Cowan, Dannie Cowan and Billy Cowan of Balko, Oklahoma, Carl Cowan of Perryton, Texas, and Jeannie Benson of Amarillo, Texas; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, as well as, numerous relatives and friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Everett Cowan, her parents, two brothers, two sisters, one grandson and one daughter in law.
