Maria Socorro Ramirez De Chavez

Maria Socorro Chavez was born on July 31, 1954, to Benjamin Ramirez and Eufemia Nevarez. She grew up the second of five siblings. At a young age she began helping sustain the household by taking odd jobs. Socorro was selfless and hardworking as she continued to help provide for her family through the years. In 1975 she immigrated to the United States to continue working. Little did she know this is where she would meet the love of her life, Jose Naudin Chavez. They were then married on February 17, 1979. They began building their lives together and soon welcomed 3 beautiful children.

Socorro was an active member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed helping those in need. She also found joy in sewing, gardening, dancing, and cooking meals. In her free time, she could often be found searching for new recipes to try.

Her selflessness didn’t end with her children. When her grandchildren were born she fell into her role as grandmother effortlessly.

Socorro departed this life on June 4, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jose Naudin Chavez, 3 children Walter Chavez, Jose Chavez Jr. and Marysol Chavez, 8 grandchildren Romyo, Landyn, Laylah, Devon, Giano, Lauryn, Charlize, and Lawsyn. 3 sisters, Petra Arvizo, Maria Ramirez, and Gloria Vela. 1 brother, Pedro Ramirez; and countless nieces and nephews, other family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
