Ledru Samuel Woodbury

November 5, 1929 — October 29, 2021

Ledru Samuel Woodbury was born a Horath on November 5, 1929 in Coleman, Oklahoma. Later that year, Ledru was adopted by Samuel and Rosetta Woodbury. Ledru grew up in Beaver County, where he attended Beaver Public School. In January of 1947 Ledru married his first wife, Shirley Joan Weir, and together they had four children, Victor, Coeta, Kevin, and Dennis.

Ledru was able to support his family by farm and ranch. They raised their children in Beaver county, and after they were all grown, they sold their property in Beaver, and moved up to a ranch in Kansas. A few short years later, they moved to Fruita Colorado, and Ledru started to invest in the rental housing market. After 33 years of marriage, Shirley passed away and in 1981 Ledru was remarried to Lola Lee Crain. Together they created a new and used store called the Bargain Center. Although Ledru and Lola never had any children together, Lola’s daughter Judy Love was considered part of the family. While married to Lola, Ledru lived in Fruita Colorado. After 32 wonderful years of marriage, Lola passed away in 2013, and a year later, Ledru moved back to Beaver County Oklahoma. Ledru was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and loved the Lord dearly. Ledru was able to live out the rest of his years peacefully in the community in which he grew up.

Ledru was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Rosetta Woodbury, his wives Shirley and Lola, his children Victor Vance and his wife Barbra Woodbury, Coeta Jones, and Dennis Woodbury, his grandchildren Scott Frank Woodbury, Curtis Lee Woodbury, and Micheal Lee Brodowy, and great grand children Amy Nicole and Carman Louise Woodbury.

Ledru passed on October 29, 2021 at the Beaver County Nursing Home.
