Larry Jay Zielke was born on July 1, 1933 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He met the love of his life, Emma Louise Claborn, in Texline, Texas in grade school. They were married on June 29, 1952. They celebrated 70 years of marriage last June. Larry went home on April 15, 2023 after a brief illness. Preceding him in death was his wife, Emma Louise Zielke, his grandparents Pop and Mom, his parents Elias Zielke and Albertha; one sister, Alice McEvers and grandson, Larry Russell Zielke, JR. He is survived by one son Russell Zielke and his wife, Becky; One daughter Cheryl Boeckman and her husband, Chris; Grandchildren: Sarah and Matt Underdown, Matthew Zielke, Hannah and Nathan Woods, Ryan Boeckman, Alecia Boeckman, and Kyle and Laura Boeckman; Great grandchildren: Brayden, Brightyn, Wyatt, Kingston, Paris, Londyn, and Harper; Sisters: Joan Lackey of Visalia, California; Rose Zugg of Odessa, Texas; Irene Miller of Osage Beach, Missouri; Don Zielke of Whitehouse, Texas; Tim Zielke and his wife Cynthia of Dalhart, Texas.
Larry served in the Army for two years, 1953-1955. Larry was a member of the Balko Baptist Church. Through his years of membership, he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and teacher in Team Kids. Larry is now home, reunited with his bride, singing God’s praises.
