Jack Fisher Morrison, Jr.

Jack Fisher Morrison, Jr. was born to Doris (Greer) and Jack Morrison, Sr. on July 22, 1940 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was welcomed home by his sister, Carolyn. 

Jack’s father joined the Army for WW2 in 1941 so his early years were spent following his father to military bases stateside until Jack Sr. was sent overseas, then Doris took her young family to live with her mother and two teenage sisters in McAlister, Ok. In 1945, the family was reunited and moved back to Oklahoma City where Jack grew up. In July, 1960, Jack joined the Army and was assigned to the Arm Security Agency in Ft6. Devens, Ma.

Jack began his career in banking in 1964 but was also a real estate agent, oil and gas landman, ran his own finance company, worked for Trippet & Kee Attorneys and wanted to open a winery.

Jack and Peggy married on July 11, 1981 in Beaver, Ok. In 1982, they made Beaver their home. Jack loved living in Beaver and was active in the community as a member Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Mayor, Board of Trustees of Beaver County Memorial Hospital Authority.  He helped establish the Beaver County Sheltered Workshop and Beaver City Transit.   He was a member of the United Methodist Church, serving as treasurer for several years.

Jack loved to work in his yard, make wine and woodworking.  Over the years he made several bassinets for the new babies, rocking chairs for them, and several pieces of furniture.  He enjoyed making pens and pencils which are now cherished by his family.

A Silver Alert was issued on January 7, 2024 for Jack who had gone missing. He was found February 6, 2024 in Ellis County, Oklahoma.

 

Survivors include his loving wife Peggy, Daughters Laura and Michael Volpe, Pamela Greinke, Diana and Marcus Moses, Stephanie and Robert O’Dell and Son Stuart and Jennifer Shadden.  Special family Will and Debbie Gregory and Melody Clark.  His special lady Janell Edwards.  15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Nieces and nephew.  He was preceded in death by his beloved sister and her husband, Carolyn and Bill Mix.

The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to this community, Beaver Police Dept., Beaver County Sheriff Department, Ellis County Sheriff Department and all the officials and volunteers that searched and assisted with the recovery of our loved one.
