Hellen Audraine Nelson born September 15th, 1933, in Jefferson, Missouri to Cecil and Myrtle Nelson. Helen attended School in Forgan, Oklahoma where she graduated.
Helen attended Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma. Hellen was a business owner and she was a longtime employee at the Mid-American Air Museum in Liberal, Kansas and she volunteered at the Salvation Army and the Coronado Museum. She loved her time as a member of the Clown Alley. She also was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She lived a spiritual life as a member of the South Church of God of Liberal, Kansas. Hellen Evans was called home on September 15th, 2021, after battling a long illness leading to a short stay in hospice care in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is survived by three sibling brothers, Denny Nelson and wife, Evelyn, of Beaver County, Oklahoma and sister, Mary Nelson of Beaver County, Oklahoma and sister Joyce Ballard of Mahnomen, Minnesota. She is also survived by seven children; Marsue Ford and husband, Lonnie, of Sperry Oklahoma, Evelyn Miller of Guymon, Oklahoma, Robert May and wife, Darlene, of Guymon, Oklahoma, Vicki Shimek and husband, Curtis, of Perry Oklahoma, Harold Leniger and wife, Norma, of Hooker, Oklahoma and Cora Miller and husband, Mike, of Liberal, Kansas; thirty one grandchildren, fifty five great-grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and stepparents and grandparents, one sister, Trevena Sue Shirley (LaFavor), two brothers Monty Nelson and Harold LaFavor and two sons Paul Leniger and Cecil Leniger, grand son Jason May. two granddaughters Yolanda Milligan and Brandy Leniger .
