Doris Jean Elston

Doris Jean Elston was born August 28, 1949 to Jacob & Donna Myers in Chanute, KS. She graduated from Perryton High School in 1967 and then worked as a telephone operator. She then met James Elston and they married on February 22, 1969 and they made their home in Beaver, OK.

Over the years, Doris worked for employers including Downings Grocery, First Baptist Church, and First Security Bank. Although she really enjoyed working in the public, she considered her role as a wife and mom most important. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. She also loved scrapbooking with family & friends, singing with her family, and shopping.

She passed away on January 25, 2014 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Ok, while receiving wonderful and compassionate care from doctors & staff that she considered friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob & Donna Myers, her sister Wanda Townsend, her sister Greta Scott, and a grandson Nicholas Nobles. She is survived by her husband James, of the home, daughter Vicky Nobles & husband James of Shattuck, Ok and their daughters Tymberlie & Donielle and grandsons Braedyn & Rylan; daughter Sherry Rocha and husband Tony of Groom, Tx and their children Tim & wife Bailey, Macee, Garet, and Jocelyn; daughter Penny Rice & husband Darrell of Decatur, Tx and their children Tristan & husband Blake, Darian, Brendon, Ciera, Allison and husband Jeff, Morgan, and grandsons Jaiden & Richard; daughter Lorrie Cook & husband Chris of Uvalde, Tx and their children Ashton & Tyler; daughter Jamie Mills and husband Sheldon of Beaver, Ok and their sons Chase & Skyler; one sister, Cindy Lewis and husband, Hank, of Twichell, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.
