Donna Jean Long

Donna Jean was born July 19, 1957 to Junior and Cornelia Ashlock. The family moved to Beaver in 1965 from Buffalo, OK, where she attended fourth thru twelfth grades. After graduating she moved to Seminole, OK and Seattle, WA before settling in Beaver until her death. Frank William Ridens Jr., her first son, was born on February 13, 1979. The following year on March 3, 1980, Donald Eugene was born. October 28, 1981 Kearrian Junior (K.J) her third son was born. A new chapter was started in December of 1984. The chapter lasted for the next thirty years. To this chapter a daughter, Amy Lynn (Long) Poole was born on February 1, 1985. Donna started working for Oklahoma Department of Transportation where she worked from February 1981 to March 2014 where she retired (32 years). In the time with the Department, she had the pleasure to work with her Dad (Junior) for four years. She also worked various jobs during the years in the food industries. November 27, 2013 Donna was taken to Garden City, KS to have some tests done. Tests were completed and showed she had a spot on her brain. She then came back home till December 5, 2014, where she was taken to Enid and was diagnosed with Glioblastoma multiforme (Stage 4 Brain Cancer). December 9 Donna had her first surgery to remove the cancer. Over the next few months she went thru treatments to battle the cancer. On the fourth of February she was moved to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City for her second surgery to remove the softball size tumor that had grown in her head. The next 5 ½ months, Donna was treated for numerous medical problems. She fought a hard battle by never giving up to get back home to her family and loved ones. She was taken to be with her son, dad, and nephew on July 22, 2014 at 11:40 pm. Preceding her in death was her son, Donald Eugene (Jan 11, 1981) her dad, Junior Ashlock (December 20, 2008) and her nephew, Larry Don (April 10, 2009) and many more loved ones. Survivors include: the love of her life, Bobby; Three children, Frank Ridens and his wife Sandy of Buffalo, OK., KJ Ridens of Beaver and Amy Poole and husband Alex of Beaver; her mother, Cornelia Ashlock of Beaver; her brother, Ronnie Joe Ashlock of Oklahoma City; her sister, Tresa Wilson and husband, Warner of Beaver and her life long friends Cecil and Carol Tedder of Forgan; Seven grand kids (which she loved every one with all her heart) and many nephews, nieces and a host of family members and friends. Interment will be at Pioneer Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her son, dad and nephew.
