Donald Verle Eyer

Donald Verle Eyer was born June 18, 1934 in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. Shortly after he was born, his older brother chose him so he was adopted by Frank and Ethel Eyer. He spent his childhood on the family farm helping his parents and brother raise hogs.

He attended church at South Flat Church of Christ where he met the love of his life, Donita. They married in 1953 and spent the next 69 years together, raising their four children.

Throughout most of his life, Donald continued farming and ranching on the family farm. He also worked at an auto repair shop, Beaver Livestock Sale and drove a school bus for Beaver High School and Garrett Elementary School. Later in life he was the Safety Director for Beaver County Road and Bridge Department.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ethel; his brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Elsie, and one son Duane.

Donald passed in Amarillo, Texas on March 25, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Donita; two sons, Verle and his wife, Vicki of Angel Fire, New Mexico, Gary and his wife, Renie of Woodward, Oklahoma and one daughter, LaTreca and husband, Bart Guthrie of Amarillo, Texas; seven grandchildren, ten great grand-children and one half-sister,  Winnie.
