Cornelia Ashlock

Cornelia Mae Ashlock was born in Buffalo, Ok on October 12, 1936, to parents Lloyd Melvin and Annis Lucille (Harmon) Smith. She grew up and attended school in Ashland, Ks and graduated in 1955. As a teenager she worked at the local Drug Store.

On, March 11, 1956, she married the love of her life Kearrian “Junior” Ashlock at the Christian Church in Ashland, Ks. 52 years of marriage Junior and Cornelia three children were born, Donna Jean, Ronnie Joe, and Tresa Ann.

The family lived in Buffalo till 1965 when Junior was transferred to Beaver for work. Where they raised their three kids in the family home. Over the years Cornelia worked various jobs. She worked at the Local Tasty Freeze, Williams Meat Market, she ironed, and baby sat for many. She had various cleaning jobs, worked at Jack & Jill’s Meat Market, and was a CNA at the Beaver County Hospital. She finished her career in housekeeping & a custodian at the Beaver Public School from 1982 until she retired in 1994. After retiring she enjoyed watching her kids grow up and start their families. Cornelia enjoyed watching her grandkids in all their activities they were involved in. Up till 2017 where she moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to her doctors.

Cornelia passed away on April 27^th, 2023, at her home after a short illness with cancer. During her stay at the hospitals, she was known as the “QUEEN.”’

Cornelia was preceded in death by her husband Junior Ashlock (2008), her parents, one sister Lucille Ashlock (2022), one brother Leon Smith (2019), Daughter Donna Long (2014), two grandsons Donald Eugene Ridens (1981), and Larry Don Davis (2009).

Cornelia is survived by her son Ronnie Joe, her daughter Tresa and her “adopted daughter” Carol Tedder (Husband Cecil). Granddaughter’s Patrica Thomas (husband David) Amber Wilson, Lindsey Fons (wife Allie) & Amy Poole (husband Alex). Grandson’s Frank Ridens (wife Sandy), KJ Ridens, Stacy Hitchcock (wife Mellisa), Susie Davis and Justin Nall “adopted”. Great grandchildren Alexis Gray, Lauren Hughes, Dakota Ridens, Kennedy Ridens, Zaq Cryer, Jacob Poole, Brendyn Poole, Tyril Jordan, Madison Deane, Londyn Deane, Nevaeh Thomas, Natalie Davis, Sophia Davis, Trevor Hitchcock & Blake Hitchcock. One Great Great Grandson Elliot Hughes.

Interment will be at Pioneer Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, daughter, and grandkids. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that any memorials be made to the organization of your choice.
