Carol Jean Barnett

September 6, 1936 — May 9, 2019

Carol Jean (White) Barnett was born on September 6, 1936 in Granby, Missouri to Oleith M. and Zatta S. (Greer) White. Carol married Hugh William Barnett on April 8, 1957 in Clayton, New Mexico. Together they had three children; Steven, Viki and Pamela, and were foster parents to other children. Carol stopped attending high school to join the work force and help support her parents and eight siblings. Because she valued education, she returned to high school when her youngest child began school. She graduated from Beaver High School with the Class of 1971 and then worked at Gibson’s and B&J Supply for many years.

Carol loved her family very much and treasured spending time with them. She cared for and wanted to help everyone, no matter if it was people or animals. You could often find her feeding the squirrels and deer that visited her, as well as numerous other wandering animals. With something always baking in the oven, whether it was a homemade pie or the best banana nut bread in Beaver County, she spent her leisure time reading, completing puzzles, tending to her flowers, loving on her dog Hank and traveling to trap shoots with her son Steven. She always had a knack for convincing others to do as she wished, and she was good at it. Carol was feisty, strong, loving, ornery, caring and loved by everyone she met.

Preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Barnett and one daughter, Viki King, Carol passed on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Beaver County Memorial Hospital, Beaver, Oklahoma at the age of 82.

She is survived by her son, Steven Barnett and fiancé Aracely of Beaver, Oklahoma; her daughter, Pamela Fuller and husband Brad of Lakin, Kansas;  Chris King and wife Scotty of Forgan, Oklahoma; Kimberly Barnett of Mansfield, TX; her brother, Danny White of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and countless other family and friends.
