Audrey Lee Parker was born December 26th 1939 and passed from this earth on January 31st 2019 with her family by her side. Audrey was born to Glen and Ophelia Wright in Balko, Oklahoma where she grew up and attended school. She met the love of her life Jake (JJ) Parker at a High School football game. They married on February 15th 1957 in Clayton, New Mexico. Born to their union were 4 girls Trecia, Brenda, LaNae, and Joy.
Audrey stayed home with the girls until they all began school. Audrey then began her career at the Beaver Hospital where she loved working the night shift and holding the babies in the nursery. From the Hospital she worked as a Deputy at the Beaver County Clerk’s office. The highlight of her career was being elected as the Beaver County Clerk. She was a member of the Oklahoma County Clerk and Deputies Association. She served as Treasurer from 1988-1989, Secretary 1989-1990, Vice-President 1990-1991 and President from 1991-1992. Serving as the County Clerk was not a job to Audrey but a love. She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Audrey was selected as an honored member in the 1996 publication of Who’s Who Among Outstanding Business Executives. After an unfortunate car accident, Audrey retired.
After retirement, Audrey enjoyed helping Jake raise horses on their family farm. She was even caught from time to time bottle feeding a baby colt off the back porch. Audrey loved being with her family, being outside, and working in the kitchen “making something out of nothing.”
In 2003, Audrey suffered a stroke requiring continuous care. Audrey became a resident of the Beaver County Nursing Home, aka Town House. While there she stole the hearts of many. During the next 15 years she showed those around her determination, selflessness, strength, stubbornness, orneriness and love. She was AUDREY!
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Ophelia Wright, husband Jake, her twin brothers Marvin and Melvin and son-in-law Rusty McDonald. Audrey is survived by daughters; Trecia McDonald of Tyrone, OK, Brenda and husband Sylvan Gordon of Edmond, OK, LaNae and husband Lee Oliver of San Antonio TX, and Joy and husband Jay Fitts of Beaver, OK. Thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, sister, Myrtle and husband Evan Pierce of Amarillo TX. Sister-in-law Sandra Parker of Beaver, OK, brother-in-law Corky and Ester Parker of Beaver, OK, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
